BNY Names New Head Of APAC Corporate Trust

New York headquartered has just appointed Jamie Pratt (pictured) as head of APAC corporate trust, responsible for leading and continuing to develop and execute the corporate trust strategy for the region.

Pratt is joining BNY from HSBC where he led the issuer services business in the Americas region, providing client solutions across the spectrum of corporate trust, loans, structured and project finance client segments for both domestic and international transactions.

Pratt is replacing Kenneth Cheong who left the role in the summer, the firm told this news service. 

Prior to leading the corporate trust business at HSBC, Pratt held several positions at BNP Paribas in London and New York in private capital and corporate trust, growing the business across Europe and the US with a focus on accounting, loan administration and all ancillary products and services in the alternatives space. He has also served in roles at Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank as a securitisation banker, the firm said in a statement.

Pratt, based in Hong Kong, will report to Cécile Nagel, global head of corporate trust, globally and Fangfang Chen locally. He will also join the corporate trust executive council and the APAC leadership council, the firm added.

“With a career spanning more than 25 years in corporate trust, private capital, securitisation, coverage and sales, Jamie’s appointment comes at a time when we continue to drive growth globally. It underscores our dedication and commitment to our APAC teams and clients,” Nagel said.
